Zaměstnavatel má právo v souladu se zákoníkem práce vést o svém zaměstnanci osobní spis. Osobní (personální) spis obsahuje zaměstnancovy osobní údaje, přičemž regulace ochrany osobních údajů je obsaženo zejména v zákoně o ochraně osobních údajů.
