The Iliad and The Odyssey as Seen through the Eyes of Female Writers in the 21st Century

The Iliad and The Odyssey as Seen through the Eyes of Female Writers in the 21st Century
Abstract:
Abstract:
The purpose of this thesis is to examine the works of the female writers who, in their novels, decided to rewrite the events from Homer's the Iliad and the Odyssey from the female point of view. Instead of focusing on the heroic deeds of men in warfare, these writers gave voice to those who were silenced for centuries - women. The women in question are namely Helen, Briseis, Penelope, and Circe.
