Possibilities of social tourism development with a focus on children and youth

Abstract:

OVCHINNIKOVA, Victoria. Možnosti rozvoje sociálního cestovního ruchu se zaměřením na děti a mládež. [Bakalářská práce] University College Prague – Vysoká škola mezinárodních vztahů a Vysoká škola hotelová a ekonomická s.r.o. Praha: 2023. Celkový počet stran. (52 str.) Sociální cestovní ruchu nabývá na významu v souvislosti s prohlubováním sociálních nerovností v moderní společnosti. Tato práce je zaměřena na cestování vybrané cílové skupiny sociálního cestovního ruchu – děti a mládež v ČR. Cílem práce je vymezení podmínek, za kterých se uskutečňuje cestovní ruch dětí a mládeže v ČR. Vedlejším cílem je zhodnotit vnitřní predispozice účastníků sociálního cestovního ruchu – jejich motivy a bariéry k cestování. V teoreticko-metodologické části jsou vysvětleny základní pojmy, vztahující k vybranému tématu. Součásti práce je literární rešerše na téma specifických rysů cílové skupiny – dětí a mládeže. Analytická část práce je věnována vymezení lokalizačních, realizačních a selektivních podmínek rozvoje sociálního cestovního ruchu dětí a mládeže v ČR. Práce obsahuje analýzu primárního výzkumu, provedeného formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s představiteli vybrané skupiny cestujících. Práce dospěla k závěru, že účast na cestovním ruchu je u dětí a mládeže podpořena finanční dostupností služeb, sociálními motivy, touhou po vzdělávání a aktivním odpočinku/sportu. V neposlední řádě jsou důležité faktory sezóny a osobních kulturních predispozic. Bariéry cestování dětí a mládeže zahrnují především finanční omezení, nedostatečnou informovanost, obavy z bezpečnosti. V návrhové části jsou uvedeny doporučení, užitečná pro marketing poskytovatelů služeb v odvětví cestovního ruchu dětí a mládeže (např. tvorba komunity – offline a online, postup výběru letního táboru, rozvoj aktivit pro „juniory“ atd.).

(52 pp.) Social tourism is gaining importance in connection with the deepening of social inequalities in modern society. This work is focused on the travel of a selected target group of social tourism – children and youth in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is to define the conditions under which children and youth tourism takes place in the Czech Republic. A secondary goal is to evaluate the internal predispositions of social tourism participants – their motives and barriers to travel. In the theoretical-methodological part, the basic terms related to the selected topic are explained. Part of the thesis is a literature search on the topic of specific features of the target group - children and youth. The analytical part of the work is devoted to the definition of localization, implementation and selective conditions for the development of social tourism for children and youth in the Czech Republic. The thesis contains an analysis of primary research, conducted in the form of semi-structured interviews with representatives of a selected group of passengers. The work came to the conclusion that participation in tourism is supported by children and youth by the financial availability of services, social motives, the desire for education and active recreation/sports. Last but not least, the factors of the season and personal cultural predispositions are important. Barriers to children's and youth's travel mainly include financial restrictions, lack of information, and safety concerns. The draft part contains recommendations useful for the marketing of service providers in the children and youth tourism sector (e.g. community building - offline and online, summer camp selection procedure, development of activities for "juniors", etc.).
