Adaptation phase of IT specialists and its contribution to knowledge transfer

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na transfer znalostí v adaptační fázi IT specialistů ve vybrané organizaci. Ke sběru dat byly využity polostrukturované rozhovory, které jsou zaměřeny na tři specifické výzkumné otázky týkající se vlivu sociálního prostředí na proces adaptace, vliv týmového učení a v neposlední řadě identifikace potřeb znalostí. Z výsledků je patrný vliv sociálního prostředí, a to zejména neformální setkání před nástupem nových zaměstnanců. Roli také hraje vliv buddyho, který působí jako mentor a hraje klíčovou roli v úspěšné adaptaci a ukotvení zaměstnance. Týmové učení výrazně přispívá k transferu znalostí napříč skupinami zaměstnanců, kdy dochází k přenosu v horizontálních a vertikálních směrech. Psychologické bezpečí se ukazuje jako nezbytný prvek pro otevřenou komunikaci a týmové učení.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on knowledge transfer in the adaptation phase of IT specialists in a selected organization. To collect data, it uses semi-structured interviews, which focused on three specific research questions related to the influence of the social environment on the adaptation process, the influence of team learning, and last but not least, the identification of knowledge needs. The results show the influence of the social environment, especially the informal meetings before onboarding new employees. The influence of the buddy, who acts as a mentor, which also plays a crucial role in the successful adaptation and anchoring of the employee. Team learning contributes significantly to knowledge transfer across employee groups, in horizontal and vertical knowledge transfer. Psychological safety proves to be an essential element for open communication and team learning.
