Development of Azerbaijani-Turkish relations in the period 2003-2023

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce je provést analýzu obchodního vývoje mezi Tureckem a Ázerbájdžánem mezi roky 2003-2023. Zde tak budou probrány mnohé analýzy makroekonomických ukazatelů jako růst HDP, míra inflace či další ukazatelé daných zemí. Pro zpracování mnoha ekonomických údajů i teoretické části byla vybrána metoda analýzy, díky níž jsem mohla mnohé makroekonomické údaje o obchodu mezi Tureckem a Ázerbájdžánem zpracovat do širšího úhlu pohledu. Výsledkem všech analýz je to, že jak ekonomika Turecka, tak i Ázerbájdžánu si prošla mnoha ekonomickými úskalími, které byly zapříčiněny politickými boji a mnoha dalšími faktory. Hůře v této věci je však Turecko, které se v dnešních dnech zaobírá vysokou mírou inflace, která dosahuje až na hladinu 70 %. Dalším výsledkem této práce je i zjištění, že ekonomické vztahy Turecka a Ázerbájdžánu mají silné opodstatnění, jelikož obchod mezi Tureckem a Ázerbájdžánem probíhá již delší dobu a Turecko bylo jednou z prvních zemí, která uznala nezávislost Ázerbájdžánu, takže vztahy mezi danými státy jsou na velmi dobré úrovni. Díky tomu tak vznikají mnohé projekty, které mají velkou ekonomickou, tak i geopolitickou podstatu a můžou mít vliv na dění v regionu. Jedná se například o budování plynovodu Nakhchivan, stavba Zangezurského koridoru či mnohé další, které posouvají ekonomické vztahy Turecka a Ázerbájdžánu do pevnější a plynulejší podstaty. Možnými problémy v těchto záležitostech mohou hrát i politická nestabilita v regionu, ekonomické problémy sledovaných zemí či mnohé další.

Abstract:

The main goal of this bachelor's thesis is to analyse the trade development between Turkey and Azerbaijan between 2003-2023. Many analyses of macroeconomic indicators such as GDP growth, inflation rate and other indicators will be discussed here. An analysis method was chosen for the processing of many economic data as well as the theoretical part, thanks to which many macroeconomic data on trade between Turkey and Azerbaijan could be processed into a broader perspective. The result of all the analysis is that both the economy of Turkey and Azerbaijan have gone through many economic difficulties which were caused by political struggles and many other factors. Worse in this matter, however, is Turkey, which these days is dealing with a high rate of inflation that reaches up to 70%. Another result of this work is the finding that the economic relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan have a strong justification, as trade between these countries has been going on for a long time and Turkey was one of the first countries to recognize the independence of Azerbaijan, so the relations between the given states are at a very good level. Thanks to this, many projects are created that have great economic and geopolitical significance and can have an influence on events in the region. These include, for example, the construction of the Nakhchivan gas pipeline, the construction of the Zangezur Corridor, and many others that move the economic relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan to a firmer and more fluid basis. Political instability in the region, economic problems of the monitored countries or many others can also play a role in these matters.
