The use of iPads in teaching mathematics

Abstract:

Tato závěrečná práce představuje návrh na praktické použití IPadů ve výuce matematiky na 2. stupni základní školy a střední škole. V první části je popsána praktická obslužnost tabletů, ve druhé části je navržen systém, jakým způsobem lze zajistit plné využití IPadů ve vyučovacích hodinách. V dalších částech práce jsou představeny možnosti, jakými různými způsoby lze na IPadech pracovat v hodinách matematiky. Využitím textového editoru nebo tabulkového procesoru, který je součástí IPadu, dále pak aplikace, které si můžeme do tabletu stáhnou nebo využití webových aplikací. V poslední části jsou další možnosti využití IPadů k aplikaci matematiky. Vše je doplněno příklady nebo snímky řešení přímo v aplikacích, tak jak zadání vypracují nebo vidí žáci.

Abstract:

This final thesis presents a proposal for the practical use of iPads in teaching mathematics at the elementary and secondary school levels. The first part describes the practical usability of tablets, while the second part proposes a system for ensuring the full utilization of iPads during instructional hours. Subsequent sections of the thesis introduce various ways in which iPads can be used in mathematics classes, including the use of text editors or spreadsheet software that are part of the iPad, as well as applications that can be downloaded onto the tablet or web-based applications. The final section explores additional possibilities for using iPads in mathematics applications, supplemented with examples or screenshots of solutions directly within the applications, as students would complete or see assignments.
