Specifics of cultural policy and cultural heritage preservation in Ireland

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce "Specifika kulturní politiky a památkové péče v Irsku" analyzuje irskou kulturní politiku se zaměřením na památkovou péči. Popisuje legislativní specifika země, hodnotí irský koncept podpory kultury a památkové péče, který srovnává s blízkým systémem ve Spojeném království i se systémem podpory v České republice. Stěžejním bodem bakalářské práce je popis priorit irské kulturní politiky, věnující se sektorům umění, památkové péče, podpory irského jazyka a irskojazyčných regionů a rozvoje spolupráce se Severním Irskem. V práci je rovněž popsána role soukromého a neziskového sektoru v památkové péči. Praktická část práce představuje příklady využití památek a jejich integrace do života společnosti a hledá možnosti propojení mezi živou kulturou a hmotným kulturním dědictvím.

Abstract:

Bachelor's thesis "Specifics of cultural policy and cultural heritage preservation in Ireland" analyses Irish cultural policy, focusing on heritage preservation. Thesis describes the legislative specifics of the country. It also evaluates the Irish supporting concept of culture and conservation, which is compared with system in the United Kingdom and in the Czech Republic. The key point of this thesis is a description of the Irish cultural policy priorities, dedicated to arts, heritage, promotion of Irish language and the Gaeltacht, and cooperation with Northern Ireland. There is also described the position of the private and non-profit sector in heritage preservation. The practical part presents examples of monuments and their integration into society, and this section is also looking for connections between creative culture and built heritage.
