Brand, visual identity and their change in the sports environment

Abstract:

Český svaz ledního hokeje (Český hokej), Česká basketbalová federace (CZ.BASKETBALL), Český badmintonový svaz (Czech Badminton), Česká asociace squashe (Český squash), Česká triatlonová asociace a Česká asociace skateboardingu (CZECH SKATEBOARDING). Všechny tyto sportovní organizace (a řada dalších) prošly v uplynulých letech změnou vizuální identity. Některé z nich dokonce včetně nového loga a názvu. Proč a jak k těmto změnám sportovní subjekty přistupují? Závěrečná práce popisuje, co je to značka a čím je tvořena. Speciální pozornost je věnována vizuální identitě a její změně. Cílem závěrečné práce je popsat, na čem úspěšné značky stojí, jak se budují a jakým způsobem probíhá proces jejich změny, tzv. rebranding a proč se k němu uchylují. Vychází přitom z analýzy současných trendů, pečlivého výběru literatury a především rozhovorů s představiteli českých sportovních organizací, které rebrandingem prošly.

Abstract:

Czech Ice Hockey Association (Czech Hockey), Czech Basketball Federation (CZ.BASKETBALL), Czech Badminton Association (Czech Badminton), Czech Squash Association (Czech squash), Czech Triathlon Association and Czech Skateboarding Association (CZECH SKATEBOARDING). All these sports organizations (and many others) have undergone a change of visual identity in recent years. Some of them even including a new logo and name. Why and how are sports entities approaching these changes? The final thesis describes what a brand is and what it is made of. Special attention is paid to visual identity and rebranding. The aim of the thesis is to describe what successful brands are based on, how they are built and how the process of change, the so-called rebranding, takes place and why they resort to it. It is based 
on an analysis of current trends, a careful selection of literature and, above all, interviews with representatives of Czech sports organizations that have undergone rebranding.
