Prison and its impact to prison staff

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá dopady vězeňského prostředí na zaměstnance vězeňské služby. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část práce je rozdělena do několika samostatných kapitol, přičemž první kapitola vysvětluje základní pojmy z oblasti trestního práva a vězeňství, druhá kapitola se věnuje trestu odnětí svobody, jeho ústavnímu rámci a jeho výkonu a ve třetí kapitole je rozebrán současný systém vězeňství České republiky, který prošel v roce 2017 zásadní změnou. Čtvrtá kapitola se zaměřuje na samotnou Vězeňskou službu České republiky, její funkci a zejména přibližuje činnost jejích zaměstnanců, kteří v této diplomové práci hrají velkou roli. Programem zacházení s odsouzenými se zabývá kapitola pátá a šestá kapitola teoretické části přibližuje příčiny a důsledky stresu ze zaměstnání. Sedmou kapitolou je praktická část, jejímž cílem je prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření analyzovat dopady vězeňského prostředí na zaměstnance vězeňské služby, konkrétně na zaměstnance na pozici vychovatele. Tato část práce obsahuje popis metody výzkumu, výběr a popis výzkumného vzorku, samotnou analýzu získaných odpovědí včetně grafického znázornění pomocí tabulek a grafů a závěrečné vyhodnocení získaných informací.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the effects of the prison environment on prison staff. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis is divided into several separate chapters, while the first chapter explains the basic concepts of criminal law and prisons, the second chapter deals with imprisonment, its constitutional framework and its execution, and the third chapter deals with The current prison system in the Czech Republic, which underwent a fundamental change in 2017. The fourth chapter focuses on the Prison Service of the Czech Republic itself, its function and especially describes the activities of its employees, because they play a big role in this diploma thesis. Chapter five deals with the program of treatment of convicts and the sixth chapter of the theoretical part describes the causes and consequences of stress from employment. The seventh chapter is the practical part, the aim of which is to analyze the effects of the prison environment on the staff of the prison service, specifically on the staff in the position of educator, through a questionnaire survey. This part of the thesis contains a description of the research method, selection and description of the research sample, the analysis of the answers obtained, including graphical representation using tables and graphs and the final evaluation of the information obtained.
