Visual Identity of the Roaster Coffee Culture

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabyvá příběhem kávy, počínaje surovinou, přes její zpracování, až po samotné vnímání spotřebitelem, z hlediska designu a vizuální identity. Znalost historie kávy a její prezentace, kterou se zabyvá teoretická část, funguje jako důležity prvek stavby celé praktické části. První část vytváří vztahy mezi kávou a designem, její prezentací a prodejem. Doprovázena obrazovym materiálem, dokládá živy obraz o minulosti i současnosti grafického designu ve světě této komodity. Text informuje o současném konceptu vizuálních identit obecně a poté se zaměřuje na problematiku kávy, kávovych řetězců a pražíren vyběrové kávy. Druhá část se zaobírá zrodem nového designu ostravské pražírny Coffee Culture, která se pokouší vyhovět požadavkům českého trhu i světovym trendům. Cílem práce je ukázat důležitost příběhu značky a její filozofie, a jako vysledek prezentovat graficky edukační materiály, na podporu prodeje vyběrové kávy.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with a story of coffee. Story which begins with a green bean and continues with perception of the consumer in terms of design and visual identity. Knowledge of the history of coffee and its presentation, which deals with the theoretical part, works in this case as an important element of the construction of the whole practical part. The first part describes relations between coffee and design, its presentation and sale. Accompanied by pictorial material, it illustrates a vivid picture of the past and present of graphic design in the commodity world. The text informs about the current concept of visual identities in general and then focuses on the issue of coffee, coffee chains and specialty coffee roasters. The second part deals with the birth of a new design for Coffee Culture Roastery and meets the requirements of the Czech market and world trends. The aim of this work is to show the importance of knowledge of the brand story and its philosophy and to present graphically educational materials to support the sale of the specialty coffee roastery in Ostrava.
