Application of infrared spectroscopy as a tool to evaluate the quality of materials for electrical engineering

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá komplexním pohledem na infračervenou spektroskopii a její aplikací. V rešeršní části je nejprve rozebrána teorie vibračních spekter, která představuje fyzikální princip vibračních spektroskopií, a infračervené záření obecně. Jsou popsány jednotlivé části přístrojového vybavení nezbytného pro analýzu, s ohledem na historický vývoj. Prostor je věnován také běžným metodám měření, materiálům transparentním pro infračervené záření a různým postupům přípravy vzorků. Dále jsou zpracovány a vyhodnoceny tři experimenty. Jedná se o identifikaci neznámého materiálu, pro jehož tepelný rozklad byl použit simultánní termický analyzátor, a následně analýzu jeho rozkladových plynů, možnosti identifikace vzorků epoxidové pryskyřice s rozdílným plněním nanočásticemi oxidu hořečnatého a diagnostiku transformátorového oleje.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with complex view at infrared spectroscopy and its application. Molecular vibrations theory that presents the principle of vibrational spectroscopy and infrared radiation in general are discussed in the research part of the thesis. Individual components of the instrumentation required for analysis with regard to historical development are presented. Common measuring methods, infrared transparent materials and different sample preparation techniques are areas of interest as well. Thesis further expends on three experiments and their evaluation. The main goals were the identification of an unknown material thermally decomposed by a simultaneous thermal analyzer, and analysis of its decomposition gasses, the identification options of epoxy resin samples with various amounts of magnesium oxide nanoparticles, and transformer oil diagnosis.
