Education about nutrition of pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce bylo vytvořit edukační plán o výživě pro těhotné ženy s gestačním diabetes mellitus. Edukace byla provedena pomocí znalostního testu před edukací a poté tři měsíce po již provedené edukaci. Edukace probíhala ve Fakultní nemocnici v Olomouci. Tři ženy, kterým byl diagnostikován gestační diabetes mellitus, byly edukovány. Edukace proběhla ve čtyřech naplánovaných edukačních jednotkách v průběhu jednoho dne, v edukační místnosti diabetologické ambulance. Součástí mojí bakalářské práce je také edukační materiál (brožura). Tento materiál ženě blíže objasňuje dietní doporučení související s gestačním diabetem. S edukačním materiálem jsme pracovali společně s klientkami v průběhu edukace, následně i po edukaci, kdy brožura sloužila hlavně k připomenutí a zopakování informací. Hlavním důvodem pro napsání a následnou realizaci edukačního procesu bylo, zajistit klientkám potřebné informace týkající se výživy při GDM, informace o diabetické dietě, o typech sacharidů, které je vhodné konzumovat, informace o přijmu sacharidů v potravě a jejich rozdělení do denních dávek. Součástí edukačního materiálu je také vzorový jídelníček, který mohou klientky využívat při každodenním stravování. Edukační proces byl realizován v následujících fázích: 1. posouzení dané klientky 2. stanovení edukační diagnózy 3. poté fáze plánování 4. následně fáze realizace 5. na závěr zhodnocení edukace u dané klientky.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to create a education plan about nutrition for pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus. Education was carried out by means of a knowledge test before education and then three months after the education. The education took place in the University Hospital in Olomouc. Three women diagnosed gestational diabetes mellitus, were educated. The education was carried out in four planned educational units during a day, in the educational room of the diabetic outpatient department. Part of my bachelor thesis is also educational material (brochure) for educated clients. This material explains in detail the dietary recommendations related to digestive diabetes. We worked with the educational material together with clients during the education, subsequently also after the education, when the brochure was mainly used to remind and repeat the information. The main reason for writing and subsequent implementation of the educational process was to provide clients with the necessary nutrition information for GDM, information on the diabetic diet, types of carbohydrates to be consumed, information on dietary intake of carbohydrates and their distribution into daily doses. The educational material also includes a sample menu that clients can use for their daily meals. The educational process was realized in the following phases: 1. assessment of the client 2. determination of educational diagnosis 3. then the planning phase 4. then the implementation phase 5. and at the end evaluation of education of the client.
