Vliv charakteristik lokalit na ohroženého krasce (Dicerca berolinensis) v České republice a návrh pro ochranu druhu

The effect of site characteristics on the threatened jewel beetle (Dicerca berolinensis) in the Czech Republic and a proposal for the conservation of the species

Abstract:

Krasec Dicerca berolinensis (Herbst, 1779) patří na území České republiky k ohroženým a ochranářsky významným saproxylickým druhům brouků (Coleoptera). O bionomii druhu však v současné době není dostatek informací. V rámci diplomové práce byl studován vliv charakteristik lokalit na ohroženého krasce D. berolinensis a následně byl poté na základě výsledků výzkumu navrhnut management pro ochranu studovaného druhu. Výzkum probíhal na dvou geografických úrovních: a) Moravský kras a okolí (data získána terénním šetření) a b) na celém území ČR (data získána z mapových portálů). V terénu byla získána data ze 17 lokalit obsazených krascem a 17 kontrolních lokalit bez výskytu druhu. Pro jejich popis byly využity vlastnosti stromů v transektech. V mapových portálech bylo vyhodnoceno 92 lokalit s výskytem krasce a 92 lokalit kontrolních bez výskytu druhu. Na základě statistických analýz z terénních dat bylo prokázáno, že výskyt studovaného druhu průkazně ovlivňuje: vitalita stromů, objem mrtvého dřeva, zápoj, frekvence výskytu dutiny a zlomů. Analýza data ze všech lokalit z ČR prokázala, že přítomnost krasce v lokalitě ovlivňuje: sklon svahu, počet mrtvých stromů, přítomnost maloplošného chráněného území, zastoupení starého porostu, oslunění stromů a přítomnost jehličnanů. Na základě zjištěných výsledků lze pro ochranu ohroženého krasce D. berolinensis doporučit v lokalitách s výskytem druhu: a) ponechávání odumřelých stromů, b) stromů se sníženou vitalitou c) případě nedostatku takových stromů vhodně uměle snižovat vitalitu stromů) a d) také podporovat snížení zápoje. Tato opatření je vhodné realizovat ve svažitém terénu, kde se nachází staré porosty s nízkým zastoupením jehličnanů.

Abstract:

The jewel beetle Dicerca berolinensis (Herbst, 1779) belongs to the endangered saproxylic species of beetles (Coleoptera) which are important for conservation in the Czech Republic. However, there is currently not enough information on the bionomics of the species. As part of the diploma thesis the effect of habitat characteristics on the endangered jewel beetle D. berolinensis was being studied. Based on the research results, management for the conservation of the studied species was proposed. The research was conducted on two geographical levels: a) Moravian Karst and its surroundings (data obtained by field survey) and b) the entire Czech Republic (data obtained from map portals). In the field, data were obtained from 17 locations occupied by the studied species and 17 control sites without it. The characteristics of the trees in the transects were used for their description. In the map portals, 92 localities with the occurrence of the jewel beetle and 92 localities without the occurrence of the species were evaluated. Based on statistical analysis of the field data, it was revealed that the occurrence of the studied species is significantly influenced by: the tree vitality, the volume of dead wood, canopy openness, the frequency of the occurrence of hollows and trunk breakage. The analysis of the data from all localities in the Czech Republic showed, that the presence of the jewel beetle in the locality is affected by: the inclination of the slope, the number of dead trees, the presence of a small protected area, the presence of old trees, the sun exposure of the trees and the presence of conifers. Based on study results, for conservation of D. berolinesis the following measures for conservationcan be proposed in the species’ habitats: a) to leave dead trees and trees with reduced vitality b) support sun openness of canopy c) artificially damage trees when inappropriate number of trees occur in the locality. It is advisable to support these localities in sloping terrain, where there are old stands with low representation of conifers.
