The Impact of Foreign Direct Investment with Investment Incentives on the Regional Labor Market

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce zkoumá otázku závislosti počtu zaměstnanců, zaměstnaných v přímých zahraničních investicích, které získaly investiční pobídku, na zaměstnanost v okrese Ústí nad Labem. Tato výzkumná otázka je řešena komparací vývoje počtu zaměstnanců, zaměstnaných těmito podniky, s vývojem počtu nezaměstnaných osob v okrese Ústí nad Labem v letech 2000-2015. Výzkumným vzorkem je 8 podniků lokalizovaných v daném okrese, kterým byla schválena žádost o investiční pobídku. K řešení výzkumného problému práce využívá metody korelační analýzy, v rámci které je zjišťována závislost mezi časovými řadami počtu zaměstnanců a počtu nezaměstnaných osob v okrese. Ke komplexnějšímu zhodnocení vlivu podniků na zaměstnanost zobrazuje práce modelovou situaci s náhledem, jak by vypadal trh práce při hypotetické absenci těchto podniků v daném okrese. Dále se práce zaměřuje také na zhodnocení přínosu investičních pobídek, které podniky získaly, a které mají za cíl mimo jiné podporu tvorby nových pracovních míst ve strukturálně postiženém regionu, ve kterém jsou podniky situovány.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis examines the question of a number of employees employed by foreign direct investment, which received investment incentives, to employment in Ústí nad Labem district. This research question has been solved by comparison progression of the number of employees employed by these companies, with the progression of the number of unemployed persons in the district of Ústí nad Labem in the years 2000-2015. The research sample is 8 companies located in the district, which was approved for an investment incentive. To solve the problem of the research study is using correlation analysis method, under which is determined a correlation between the time series of the number of employees and the number of unemployed persons in the district. For a more comprehensive assessment of the impact of companies on employment, this work shows a model situation. This situation shows how the labor market looked in the hypothetical absence of these enterprises in the district. Further work also focuses on the evaluation of the contributions of investment incentives that firms received. and which aim, inter alia, support the creation of new jobs in a structurally affected region, where the enterprises are located.
