Wordformation variants of Swiss standard German: a corpus linguistic analysis

Abstract:

Certain linguistic features have all German-speaking nations. Based on linguistic features, we can often recognize the nationality of a person. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to examine the selected word formation variants of Swiss standard German based on the corpus examination and to compare them with word formation in German. The aim of the practical part of the bachelor thesis is to find out what are the differences of the word formation. Will the search terms in the corpus be relatively easy to find or will unexpected problems arise? Will the theory of comparative expressions match the results of the corpus search results? To answer these questions, the corpus linguistic analysis is performed on the concrete variants. This analysis then shows the concrete results, the total occurrence in the German-speaking countries and how often they are found in a certain year and in selected newspapers. The evaluated results of the corpus examination in the German corpus DeReKo are summarized in the conclusion. The total occurrence is evaluated and graphically presented in the practical part of this work together with the evaluation.

Abstract:

Gewisse sprachliche Besonderheiten haben alle deutschsprachigen Nationen. An Hand sprachlicher Merkmale lässt sich oft die nationale Zugehörigkeit einer Person erkennen. Ziel dieser Bachelorarbeit ist, auf Basis der Korpusuntersuchung die ausgewählten Wortbildungsvarianten des Schweizer Standarddeutsch zu untersuchen und mit der Wortbildung im Deutschen zu vergleichen. Ziel des praktischen Teils der Bachelorarbeit ist es, zu untersuchen, wo die Unterschiede der Wortbildung liegen. Werden die Suchbegriffe im Korpus relativ leicht zu finden sein oder treten unerwartete Probleme auf? Wird die Theorie der vergleichenden Ausdrücke den Ergebnissen der Korpussuche entsprechen? Um diese Fragen zu beantworten, wird die Korpuslinguistische Analyse den konkreten Varianten durchgeführt. Diese Analyse zeigt dann die konkreten Ergebnisse, das Gesamtvorkommen in den deutschsprachigen Ländern und wie oft sie im gewissen Jahr und in ausgewählten Zeitungen gefunden werden. Die ausgewerteten Ergebnisse der Korpusuntersuchung in dem deutschen Korpus DeReKo werden im Fazit zusammengefasst. Das Gesamtvorkommen wird ausgewertet und graphisch in dem praktischen Teil dieser Arbeit zusammen mit der Auswertung präsentiert.
