Coming out process of adolescent gays and lesbians

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na proces coming outu u adolescentních gayů a leseb s cílem popsat prožívání a zkušenosti zvoleného výzkumného souboru. V teoretické části práce jsou vysvětleny základní pojmy vztahující se k homosexualitě, postoje veřejnosti k ní a vnímání postavení ve společnosti samotnými homosexuály, také je přiblíženo období adolescence. Dále je teoretická zaměřena na popis procesu coming out. Výzkumná část bakalářské práce je založena na kvalitativním přístupu, kdy data od participantů byla získávána pomocí polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s následným vyhodnocením IPA analýzou. Výzkumný soubor se skládal ze sedmi participantů, čtyř mužů a tří žen. Dále je ve výzkumné části uvedena analýza a interpretace dat a diskuze nad výsledky výzkumu současně s jeho limity.

Abstract:

The Bachelor's thesis focuses on the process of coming out in gay and lesbian adolescents in order to describe the experiences of the selected research group. The theoretical part of the thesis explains the basic concepts related to homosexuality, public attitudes towards it and the perception of the position in society by homosexuals themselves, and also presents the period of adolescence. In the following, theoretical part focuses on the process of coming out. The research part of the bachelor's thesis is based on a qualitative approach, where data from the participants was collected through semi-structured interviews followed by an IPA analysis. The research population consisted of seven participants, four men and three women. In the following, the research section presents the analysis and interpretation of the data and a discussion of the research findings along with its limitations.
