Cieľom mojej práce je pomocou analýzy zhodnotiť funkciu trestu a trestania v spoločnosti všeobecne a so zameraním na mladistvých. Najprv vysvetľujem pojem a funkciu trestu ako sa vyvíjali od minulosti po súčasnosť. Ďalej definujem jednotlivé pojmy súvisiace s trestaním mladistvých a uvádzam historický exkurz právnej úpravy trestania mladistvých.
