Financial Benchmarking of the BAŤA, a. s.

Abstract:

V práci je provedená analýza finanční výkonnosti společnosti BAŤA, a.s., a je posouzená její přitažlivost pro potenciální investory. Jsou použity metody finanční analýzy, proveden je výpočet ukazatele EVA a vytvořena je soustava ukazatelů INFA. Je proveden finanční benchmarking s odvětvím (průměr odvětví, přímí konkurenti) a je posouzeno zdraví podniku. Na základě zjištěných výsledků jsou udělány závěry o silných a slabých stránkách podniku, jsou vytvořená doporučení pro zlepšení stávající situace. Bylo zjištěno, že BAŤA, a.s., je ztrátový podnik, přestože je druhou největší společností na trhu obuvi v ČR a má miliardové tržby. Hlavní příčiny této situace jsou vysoká nákladovost výroby a neefektivní řízení zásob. Relativně vysoká je také zadluženost podniku, který není schopný efektivně využívat svá aktiva a tvořit hodnotu pro majitele. Ohrožující je zejména vysoká síla konkurentů a to, že oproti podniku BAŤA nemají slabiny v těchto oblastech. Hlavní doporučení se týkají přezkoumání vztahů s dodavateli, optimalizace výrobních nákladů a řízení zásob. Náprava situace je pro podnik naléhavým úkolem, protože se postupně ztrácí jeho konkurenční přednosti.

Abstract:

The analysis of the financial performance of the company BAŤA, a.s. and its attractiveness to potential investors is assessed. Methods of financial analysis are used, the EVA indicator is calculated and a system of INFA indicators is created. Financial benchmarking is performed with the industry (industry average, direct competitors) and the health of the company is assessed. Based on the results, conclusions are made about the strengths and weaknesses of companies, and recommendations are made to improve the current situation. It was found that BAŤA, a.s. is a loss - making company, despite the fact that it is the second largest company on the footwear market in the Czech Republic and has billions in sales. The main causes of this situation are high production costs and inefficient inventory management. BAŤA's indebtedness is also relatively high. The company is not able to use its assets effectively and create value for owners. Particularly threatening is the high strength of competitors and the fact that, compared to BAŤA, they have no weaknesses in these areas. The main recommendations concern the review of relationships with suppliers, the optimization of production costs and inventory management. Correcting the situation is an urgent task for the company, because its competitive advantages are gradually being lost.
