The connection between a teacher's style of teaching and the social climate in a class at lower scondary school

Abstract:

Diplomová práce zkoumá klima školní třídy v kontextu vyučovacího stylu učitele. V první části vymezuje terminologii zkoumaných jevů, sociální klima školní třídy a učitelův vyučovací styl. Praktická část se zabývá výběrem vhodného nástroje pro výzkum výukového stylu a popisuje úpravu nutnou pro jeho použití. Následně identifikuje výukové styly dvou učitelů a interpretuje je. Dále je v praktické části popsán výběr dotazníku zkoumajícího sociální klima školní třídy a zkoumá, analyzuje a interpretuje klima ve dvou třídách druhého stupně, kde vyučují zkoumaní učitelé a snaží se najít případné vazby mezi třídními klimaty a výukovými styly.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis examines the issue of a class social climate in the context of the teacher's teaching style. At first the thesis defines the terminology of examined features, the social climate of a class and the teacher's teaching style. The practical part searches for a suitable tool for the teaching style research and describes modification that is necessary for its application. Consequently the thesis uncovers teaching styles of two teachers and interprets the results. The following stage of the practical part involves the selection of the social climate evaluating tool and the examination, analysis and interpretation of the social climate of two lower-secondary school classes where the examined teachers teach. The thesis tries to identify possible links between the class social climate and the teaching styles.
