Intergenerational Ties and Conflicts in Grace Paley's Short Stories
Abstract:
The central text examined in this thesis is Grace Paley?s book The Collected Stories (1999) with the aim to explore the intergenerational ties and conflicts there. Besides this topic, Paley?s life is discussed as well. The focus is also on Jewish American women writers, with the background of the immigration waves to America.
Abstract:
Cílem této diplomové práce je analýza souboru povídek The Collected Stories (1999) autorky Grace Paleyové, se zaměřením na mezigenerační vztahy a konflikty. Vedle hlavního tématu je věnován prostor také životu Grace Paleyové. Součástí práce je rovněž výčet amerických židovských spisovatelek s nastíněním imigrace Židů do Ameriky.
