Payment cards and their development

Abstract:

Kreditní/debetní karty jsou moderní platební nástroj, který využívá většina lidí. Proto je bakalářská práce zaměřena na platební karty a jejich vývoj. Díky platebním kartám mohou lidé platit bez použití hotovostních peněz. Úvodem je definován pojem platebních karet a vztah mezi zákazníkem, obchodníkem, bankou a kartovou asociací. V této souvislosti je uvedena jejich historie a základní druhy karet. V další kapitole jsou platební karty ukázány z pohledu výroby, tj. výroba karet, personalizace a design. V práci jsou dále zmíněny nové technologie a také rizika spojená s používáním karet. Závěrem jsou popsány i prestižní karty a jejich výhody. Hlavním cílem bylo poskytnout informace o platebních kartách, o vývoji technologií, problémech s podvody a jak lehce se dá získat zlatá karta.

Abstract:

Credit/debit cards are modern payment instruments used by most people. Therefore, the bachelor´s thesis is focused on the payment cards and their development. Due to payment cards, people can pay for goods and services without using cash money. First, it defined the conception of payment cards and the relationship between consumer, dealer, and bank and card association. In this context, it is described their history and also their basic types. In the next chapter, cards are shown as a material product, i.e. production of cards, personalization and design. Further they are mentioned new technologies and risks connected with using these cards. Finally, are described the most prestigious cards and their benefits. The main aim was to provide the information on payment cards, the development of technology, problems with fraud of payment cards and how it is easy to get the gold card.
