Spatial distribution of crime in the Olomouc region

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce je charakteristika územní diferenciace kriminality v Olomouckém kraji. V první části práce jsou popsány hlavní specifika Olomouckého kraje. Dále následuje uvedení do problematiky kriminality. V této části je obecná charakteristika kriminality, její struktura, jsou zmíněny zdroje informací o kriminalitě, prevence kriminality, mapování kriminality a jsou uvedeny i změny v trestním zákoně, ke kterým na začátku roku 2010 došlo. Ve druhé části práce je popsán postup zpracování získaných dat. Následuje charakteristika územní diferenciace Olomouckého kraje dle působnosti Policie ČR. Závěr práce je věnován interpretaci výsledné územní diferenciace obecné kriminality a vybraných trestných činů za roky 2001, 2005, 2009 a 2010. Výsledky jsou konfrontovány i s mírou nezaměstnanosti v zájmové oblasti a také s programy prevence kriminality, jeţ v Olomouckém kraji probíhají.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is territorial differentiation of crime in the Olomouc Region. The first part of thesis describes the key features of the Olomouc region followed by introductions to the crime. This chapter provides determination of basic terms related to criminality and its types, sources of information about criminality, crime prevention and crime mapping. Changes in the Czech criminal law, which occurred at the beginning of 2010, are also described in this chapter. The second part of the thesis deals with processing of obtained data followed by territorial differentiation by the Police of the Czech Republic. The final part interprets the resulting territorial differentiation of general criminality and chosen types of criminal acts in 2001, 2005, 2009 and 2010. The results are linked to unemployment rates of the districts of the Olomouc Region and also to Crime Prevention programs, which run in the Region.
