Analysis of factors influencing the participation of persons in pre-retirement and retirement age on the labor market in the Czech Republic in 2007–2019

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je identifikovat nejdůležitější faktory, které ovlivňovaly účast osob v předdůchodovém a důchodovém věku na trhu práce v ČR za období let 2007-2019. Práce porovnává požadavky zaměstnavatelů s nabídkou práce osob starších 55 let. Byly také zkoumány aspekty, které mají vliv na atraktivitu osob starších 55 let na trhu práce. U obyvatelstva v ČR se dlouhodobě prodlužuje délka života a pro udržení penzijních systémů bude do budoucna nezbytné více zapojit starší osoby do trhu práce. V teoretické části je nejprve představena rešerše flexibilních forem prací, které jsou aplikovatelné na český trh práce. Dále se teoretická část věnuje jednotlivým pozitivním či negativním faktorům a motivacím, kterými jsou ovlivněni jak pracovníci starší 55 let, tak jejich zaměstnavatelé. Součástí teoretické části je také rešerše podpůrných programů na zaměstnanost nejen pro osoby starší 55 let. Praktická část nejprve ilustruje trend stárnutí populace v ČR. Následně práce analyzuje vývoj jednotlivých determinantů zaměstnanosti osob starších 55 let. V neposlední řadě práce prezentuje výstupy případové studie, která doplňuje dosavadní výzkum o rozhovory s jednotlivými firmami s cílem identifikovat silné a slabé stránky starších zaměstnanců z pohledu jejich zaměstnavatelů.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to identify the most important factors that influenced the participation of people of pre-retirement and retirement age in the labor market in the Czech Republic for the period 2007-2019. The work compares the requirements of employers with the job offer of people over 55 years of age. Aspects that affect the attractiveness of people over 55 in the labor market were also examined. The life expectancy of the population in the Czech Republic has been increasing for a long time, and in order to maintain pension systems, it will be necessary to involve older people more in the labor market in the future. The theoretical part first presents a search of flexible forms of work that are applicable to the Czech labor market. The theoretical part deals with individual positive and negative factors and motivations, which affect both workers over 55 years of age and their employers. Part of the theoretical part is also a search of employment support programs not only for people over 55 years of age. The practical part first illustrates the aging trend of the population in the Czech Republic. The work analyzes the development of individual determinants of employment of people older than 55 years. The work also presents the results of a case study, which complements the existing research with interviews with individual companies in order to identify the strengths and weaknesses of older employees from the perspective of their employers.
