Identification and utilization of natural and cultural heritage in local and regional development.

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je zhodnotit role a význam přírodního a kulturního dědictví v rozvoji vybraných lokalit a regionů, a to obecně a také formou případových studií na území Česka. Teoretická část práce podává na základě rešerše odborné literatury přehled různých přístupů k přírodnímu a kulturnímu dědictví a jeho hodnotě. Koncept přírodního a kulturního dědictví je zde dále zasazen do kontextu teorií zohledňujících měkké lokalizační faktory, kreativní třídu či marketing území. Na tyto přístupy se v lokálním a regionálním rozvoji v ekonomicky vyspělých zemích v současnosti klade stále větší důraz. V prostředí Česka je však jejich aplikace teprve v počátcích. V empirické části tak je pomocí případových studií na území Ostravska, Osoblažska a Mikulovska zkoumáno, zda je v praxi přírodní a kulturní dědictví využíváno pro rozvoj lokalit a regionů. A pokud ano, jakým způsobem je využíváno a co to přináší. Pro vypracování případových studií bylo zásadní pořízení rozhovorů s experty z daných regionů. K posouzení úrovně a kvality využívání přírodního a kulturního dědictví slouží srovnání poznatků z různých území navzájem, a také srovnání poznatků z teorie s praxí.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to evaluate the role and significance of natural and cultural heritage in the development of selected localities and regions in general and also by case studies in Czechia. The theoretical part of the thesis gives an overview of various approaches to the natural and cultural heritage and its value. The concept of natural and cultural heritage is set in the context of theories that take into account soft localization factors, creative class, and territorial marketing. These approaches are increasingly emphasized in local and regional development in countries with advanced economies. In Czechia, however, their applications are only in the beginning. In the empirical part, case studies of Ostravsko, Osoblažsko and Mikulovsko regions investigate whether in practice the natural and cultural heritage is used for the development of localities and regions. And if so, how is the heritage used and what does it bring. For the case studies the interviews with experts from the selected regions were essential. For the assessment of the level and quality of the use of natural and cultural heritage serve the comparison of the knowledge from different territories, and the comparison between the knowledge from theory and practice.
