Purpose and role of the professional Facebook group "School Psychologists"

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je zmapovat účel facebookové skupiny Školních psychologů. Práce analyzuje příspěvky publikované ve skupině v období srpen 2021 – červenec 2022. Hlavní otázkou práce je, jaká témata a jaké druhy příspěvků se ve skupině objevují a jak na ně členové reagují. Dále se v příspěvcích zabývá frekvencí výskytu sitaucí, které byly v předchozích studiích označeny jako vnější příčiny morálního distresu. Práce tím aspiruje na získání vhledu do aktuální problematiky školní psychologie. Výsledky poukazují na důležitost této skupiny jako významného zdroje informací pro školní psychology, stejně tak jako na problém nedostatku praktických informací ohledně výkonu této profese. Zároveň potvrzují, že se ve skupině objevují dotazy na situace pojící se s morálním distresem.

Abstract:

The aim of this paper is to map the purpose of the School Psychologists Facebook group. The thesis analyses the posts published in the group between August 2021 and July 2022. The main question of the thesis is what topics and types of posts appear in the group and how members react to them. It also looks at the frequency of occurrence in the posts of situations that have been identified in previous studies as external causes of moral distress. In doing so, the paper aspires to gain insight into current issues in school psychology. The results highlight the importance of this group as an important source of information for school psychologists, as well as the problem of the lack of practical information regarding the practice of the profession. It also confirms that the group has questions about situations related to moral distress.
