The incidence of bullying in the 1st and 2nd year of primary education, its course and consequences

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na výskyt šikany mezi žáky prvního a druhého ročníku základní školy. Teoretická část práce se věnuje podrobnému popisu agrese a šikanujícího chování z několika úhlů pohledu. Popsány jsou jednotlivé typy šikany z hlediska pěti autorů světové odborné literatury. Pozornost je věnována znakům, stádiím, ale i příčinám šikany, včetně bližšího rozboru agresorů, obětí, rolí rodin aktérů šikanování, ale i rolí škol, jež aktéři navštěvují. V diplomové práci je vysvětlena také definice, znaky a důsledky kyberšikany. Práce věnuje pozornost správnému řešení a nápravě šikany na půdě školy, včetně popisu vhodného preventivního zakročení. V závěru teoretické části jsou součástí diplomové práce reálné příběhy různých případů šikany ve školním prostředí. Praktická část diplomové práce podrobně rozepisuje a zhodnocuje výsledky výzkumu žáků základní školy Edisonova Teplice. Testování, pozorování a následná interview s žáky prokázala častý výskyt šikany mezi žáky prvních dvou ročníků základního vzdělávání. Šikana se vyskytovala ve čtyřech třídách z pěti. Na základě výsledků výzkumu byl vytvořen preventivní program určený pro žáky ve věku 6-8 let, rozdělený do pěti vyučovacích hodin. Cílem preventivního programu je naučit žáky správnému chování, vzájemnému respektu a snížení případů šikany ve školním prostředí.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the occurence of bullying among first and second year of primary school students. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to a detailed description of aggression and bullying behaviour from several perspectives. The different types of bullying are described from the point of view of five authors of the world professional literature. Attention is paid to the characteristics, stages, and also causes of bullying, including a closer analysis of aggressors, victims, the roles of the families of the actors of bullying, and even the roles of the schools attended by the actors. The thesis also explains the definition, characteristics and consequences of cyberbullying. The thesis pays attention to the correct solution and remediation of bullying on school grounds, including a description of appropriate preventive measures. At the end of the theoretical part, the thesis includes real-life stories of different cases of bullying in the school environment. The practical part of the thesis describes and evaluates in detail the results of the research on students of the Edisonova Teplice Primary School. Testing, observation and follow-up interviews with students proved a frequent occurrence of bullying among students of the first two years of primary education. Bullying occurred in four out of five classes. Based on the results of the research, a prevention programme was developed for students aged 6-8, divided into five lessons. The aim of the prevention programme is to teach students proper behaviour, mutual respect and to reduce incidents of bullying in the school environment.
