The process of integration of Vietnamese students in the 1st level of primary school

Abstract:

Hlavním tématem mé diplomové práce je začleňování vietnamských žáků na prvním stupni základní školy v České republice. Zajímalo mně, s jakými obtížemi se tito žáci při tomto procesu střetávají, jaké existují strategie začleňování a jak v těchto případech funguje spolupráce rodiny a školy. V teoretické části jsem se za pomocí dostupné literatury pokusila popsat nejen existující postupy začleňování žáků – cizinců do českých škol, ale také přiblížit vietnamskou komunitu v České republice, její specifika a také otázky spojené s jejich migrací a usidlováním. Ke zjištění stanoveného cíle a zodpovězení výzkumných otázek jsem zvolila kvantitativní výzkumnou metodu, kterou jsem prováděla formou rozhovorů s vybranými informanty. Celkem se výzkum týkal šesti vietnamských dětí, jejich rodičů a třídních učitelek. Jednalo se o žáky jedné základní školy ve městě Znojmě. Získané informace jsem se pokusila analyzovat a za pomoci otevřeného kódování vyhledat společné kategorie. Částečné shrnutí jsem uvedla za kazuistikami jednotlivých žáků a nakonec jsem zařadila interpretaci nalezených kategorií. Snažila jsem se poměrně o podrobný popis zkoumané problematiky.

Abstract:

The main topic of my thesis is the integration of Vietnamese pupils at primary schools in the Czech Republic. I wonder what problems these students encounter in the process, what are the strategies of inclusion and how it works in these cases, cooperation between family and school. In the theoretical part I was using the available literature tried to describe not only the existing procedures for the inclusion of pupils - foreigners into Czech schools, but also closer to the Vietnamese community in the Czech Republic, its specifics and issues related to the migration and settling down. To determine the set goals and answer research questions, I have chosen a quantitative research method, which I carried out through interviews with selected informants. Overall I was concerned the investigation of six Vietnamese children, their parents and classroom teachers. These were the pupils of a primary school in Znojmo. The information obtained, I have tried to analyze and help find common open coding category. Partial summary I mentioned at case studies of individual pupils, and finally I found the interpretation ranked categories. I tried quite a detailed description of the research questions.
