Regional differentiation of socio-economic development in the European Union regions

Abstract:

V předkládané disertační práci je pozornost zaměřena na regionální diferenciaci socioekonomického rozvoje v regionech NUTS 2 Evropské unie. V teoretické části práce je zpracována rešerše poznatků vztahujících se k problematice disertační práce, dále jsou definovány skupiny ukazatelů, na základě kterých je posuzována socio-ekonomická úroveň v jednotlivých regionech NUTS 2 Evropské unie, a představeny jednotlivé metody, které jsou dále aplikovány v rámci prováděné analýzy. Vlastní výzkum autora je v praktické části, ve shodě s cíli práce, hodnocení regionů s využitím metod vícekriteriálního hodnocení, a následně identifikaci podobnosti mezi regiony NUTS 2 s využitím shlukové analýzy.

Abstract:

Presented dissertation thesis is focused on regional differences of socio-economic development in the European Union NUTS 2 regions. The theoretical part consists of research findings related to the dissertation issue; also the group of indicators is defined, based on which the socio-economic level of the individual European Union NUTS 2 regions is assessed. Furthermore, various methods are introduced, which are applied in the context of the analysis. The author´s own research in the practical part, in line with the objectives of the thesis, multi-criteria evaluation of regions, and identification of similarities within NUTS 2 regions using cluster analysis.
