Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci se snažím přiblížit historii a ukázat oceněné práce největší soutěže polské tiskové fotografie ?Grand Press Photo?. Na základě této soutěže představuji stav široce chápané reportérské fotografie v prostředí polských fotografů. Snažím se popsat a zhodnotit fotografie roku a komentovat ceny udělené ve čtyřech kategoriích: ?Události?, ?Lidé?, ?Každodenní život? a ?Sport?. V perspektivě posledních patnácti let si všímám, jak se soutěž vyvíjela a rozvíjela, ale neopomíjím ani krizi printových médií. Stále více fotografů musí pracovat samostatně a soutěže jako tato jsou příležitostí k prezentaci jejich práce.

Abstract:

In this bachelor's thesis I would like to present the history and the awarded works in the biggest Polish press photography contest "Grand Press Photo". On it?s basis I present the condition of widely understood reporter photography among Polish photographers. I try to describe and evaluate ?Pictures of the year? and comment on the awards granted in four categories: "Events", "People", "Daily Life", "Sport". I have noticed how the competition has evolved and developed over the past fifteen years, but I have also noticed a crisis in the press. More and more photographers have to work on their own and such competitions are an opportunity to showcase their works.
