The aim of this diploma thesis Private Rebellions in the plays by Brian Friel is to analyse the private rebellions of characters in two theatre plays by Brian Friel. The diploma thesis deals with the prized theatre plays Dancing at Lughnasa (1990) and Philadelphia, Here I Come! (1964) and analyses the causes and forms of personal revolts of characters in both plays. The former play focuses on the Irish …more
