Board games and their influence on the key competencies of students with mental retardation.

Abstract:

Anotace Autor se v kvalifikační práci zabývá tématem vlivu deskových her na klíčové kompetence žáků s lehkým mentálním postižením. V teoretické části jsou zpracována konceptuální východiska vztahující se ke zvolenému tématu. Zejména se jedná o otázky mentální retardace, deskových her a klíčových kompetencí. Praktickou část tvoří kvalitativní výzkum, který zjišťuje pozorováním a studiem dokumentace, zda hraní deskových her může pomoci zlepšit zrakovou a sluchovou percepci žáka s mentálním postižením. Závěry kvalifikační práce poukazují na vliv v obou zmíněných oblastech. Z rozhovorů s pedagogy vyšlo, že hraní her není bráno jako plnohodnotná a cílená aktivita k získávání klíčových kompetencí. Jako evaluační nástroj byl použit test zrakového a sluchového vnímání, který prokázal u pozorovaného žáka na změny.

Abstract:

Abstract In the qualification thesis, the author deals with the topics of the influence of board games on the key competences of students with mild mental disabilities. In the theoretical part there are elaborated conceptual starting points related to the chosen topic. In particular, it will be about issues of mental retardation, board games and key competences. The practical part consists of qualitative research, which determines by observation and study of documentation whether playing board games can help improve the visual and auditory perception of a student with a mental disability. The conclusions of the qualification thesis points to the influence in both mentioned areas. From interviews with teachers arose, that playing games is not considered a full-fledged and targeted activity for acquiring key competences. A test of visual and auditory perception was used as an evaluation tool, which demonstrated changes at the observed student.
