Abstract:

Přátelé. S obdivem a pokorou si uvědomuji, kolik jich opravdu mám. Vnímám i skutečnost, že tuto mou realitu považuji za samozřejmost, a často zapomínám na její křehkost a vzácnost. Fascinuje mě, jak rozdílné světy prostřednictvím mých blízkých poznávám a jak se v každém z nich odráží kus mě samé. Zároveň sleduji linky, které mé přátele navzájem propojují a vytváří obraz zdánlivě neomezeného řetězce vztahů. Přesto, existuje teorie, která do této vztahové roviny limity vnáší. Hypotéza sociálního mozku (Dunbar, R. I. M. (1996). Cambridge) pomocí evolučního modelu lidských vztahů významným způsobem formuje současné myšlení o našich sociálních sítích. Významnou roli zde hraje individuální poměr neokortexu vztažený ke zbývajícímu objemu mozku. Výsledkem je existence teoretického limitu pro počet jedinců, se kterými může jeden člověk udržovat stálý osobní vztah. Toto číslo je omezeno přibližně na 150 osob. Jsme ochotni si vůbec představit, že by něco tak křehkého, jako jsou vztahy s našimi přáteli, bylo skutečně limitováno? Do svých fotografií jsem otiskla to nejcennější, co mám - mé přátele. Tu část svého života, ze které čerpám veškerou energii, která mi nastavuje zrcadlo, obohacuje a posouvá mě. Každá fotografie pak s sebou nese příběh. Nejen onen sdílený moment, ve kterém nám bylo dobře, ale také kus vlastního světa mně blízkého člověka, kus mozaiky spojující ty, na kterých mi záleží. Vystačí mi limit 150?

Abstract:

this reality of mine for granted and often forget its fragility and rarity. It fascinates me how different worlds I get to know through my loved ones and how a piece of myself is reflected in each of them. At the same time, I follow the lines that connect my friends to each other, creating an image of a seemingly unlimited chain of relationships. Nevertheless, there is a theory that brings limits to this relational plane. Using an evolutionary model of human relationships, the Social Brain Hypothesis (Dunbar, R. I. M. (1996). Cambridge) significantly shapes current thinking about our social networks. An important role here is played by the individual ratio of the neocortex relative to the remaining volume of the brain. As a result, there is a theoretical limit to the number of individuals with whom one person can maintain a permanent personal relationship. This number is limited to approximately 150 people. Are we willing to even imagine, that something as fragile as relationships with our friends, would really be limited? In my photos, I printed the most valuable thing I have - my friends. That part of my life from which I draw all my energy, which holds a mirror up to me, enriches me and moves me along. Each photo then carries a story. Not only that shared moment in which we felt good, but also a piece of my close persons´ own world, a piece of the mosaic connecting those I care about. Is the 150 limit enough for me?
