Volunteering as a present-day phenomenon

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na dobrovolnictví a jeho přínos pro klienty domovů pro seniory a děti z Dětského centra Domeček a jeho další vliv na tyto osoby. Teoretická část práce se ve třech kapitolách věnuje nejpodstatnějším poznatkům týkajících se dobrovolníků a jejich svěřenců, tedy dětí a seniorů. První kapitola se zabývá dobrovolnictvím a dobrovolníkem. Rozebírá oblasti, ve kterých může dobrovolník působit, osobnost dobrovolníka se zaměřením na jeho motivaci a možnost mezigeneračního učení mezi dobrovolníkem a jeho svěřencem. Druhá kapitola se věnuje dítěti. Popisuje psychomotorický vývoj dítěte s důrazem na nejranější období vývoje. Druhá polovina kapitoly je pak věnována institucionální péči o dítě, její možnosti a vliv na osobnost dítěte. Poslední kapitola teoretické části je věnována seniorům. Pojednává o fyzických a psychických změnách spojených se stářím a o službách sociální péče poskytovaných seniorům, zejména o domovech pro seniory. Část práce o domovech pro seniory je zaměřena především na charakteristiku pobytu v tomto zařízení na seniora. Praktická část diplomové práce se věnuje přínosu dobrovolnictví pro svěřence dobrovolníka. Tyto poznatky interpretuje na základě kvalitativního výzkumu realizovaného metodou rozhovoru a pozorování. Pomocí rozhovoru se zaměstnanci domovů pro seniory a Dětského centra Domeček, rozhovoru se seniory z těchto domovů a pozorování návštěvy dobrovolníka u dítěte v Dětském centru Domeček zjišťuje výzkumné šetření především přínos dobrovolnictví pro děti a seniory a přístup zaměstnanců k dobrovolníkům v jejich zařízení.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on volunteering and its contribution to clients of homes for the elderly and children from Children's centre Domeček and next its influences on this people. The theoretic part deals in three chapters with the most important pieces of knowledge related to volunteers and their charges; it means the children and the elderly. The first chapter deal with volunteering and volunteer. It analyses the areas, in which the volunteer can work, the personality of the volunteer with the focus on his motivation and options of generational teaching between the volunteer and his charge. The second chapter devotes to child. It describes psychomotorical evolution of child laying stress on the earliest periods of evolution. The second half of this chapter is devoted to institutional care about the child, its options and the influences on the child's personality. The last chapter of the theoretic part is devotes to elderly. It deals with physical and psychical changes related to old age, the services of the social care provided the elderly and particularly the homes for elderly. The part of the thesis describing the homes for elderly is particularly focused on describing living in this home on the elderly. The practical part of the diploma thesis devotes to contribution of volunteering to the charge of the volunteer. It interprets these findings by qualitative research implemented by methods of interview and observation. Using the interview with the employees of homes for elderly and the Children's centre Domeček, the interview with the clients of these homes and the observation of volunteers visiting the children in Children's centre Domeček, finds the research out primarily the contribution of volunteering for children and elderly and employee's attitude to volunteers visiting their organisation.
