Competitiveness of individual regions - quantifications and determinants

Abstract:

Tato práce je zaměřena na kvantifikaci konkurenceschopnosti okresů České republiky a na stanovení možných příčin rozdílné úrovně a dynamiky růstu. Za tímto účelem bylo vybráno deset ukazatelů, které je možné rozdělit do oblasti růstového potenciálu a kvality života. Data byla zpracovávána od roku 2000 do roku 2009. Tyto údaje byly poté mezi jednotlivými okresy porovnávány pomocí různých grafických metod a poté bylo na základě těchto údajů určeno pořadí okresů České republiky z hlediska úrovně a dynamiky vývoje. V další části této práce byla pozornost věnována příčinám regionálních disparit. Byly vybrány tři faktory, u kterých byl předpoklad, že mají na rozdílný vývoj v okres nějaký vliv. Pomocí statistické metody pak bylo změřeno, jaké jsou závislosti mezi těmito faktory a jednotlivými oblastmi kvality života a růstového potenciálu. V poslední část je zaměřena na analýzu okresů v Plzeňském kraji a bude v ní důkladněji rozebrán okres Plzeň - město

Abstract:

The aim of this Bachelor Thesis is to quantify the competitiveness of individual regions within Czech Republic and identify possible causes of different levels and dynamic growth. For this purpose, ten indicators were selected. These indicators could be divided into the growth potential and quality of life. The data were collected within years 2000 and 2009. These data were compared between particular districts with use of variety of graphical methods. The next part of work paid attention to the causes of regional disparities. Three factors were selected; under them we presumed that they have some influence on the districts. Then, using a statistical method was measured, what were the dependencies between these factors and quality of life and growth potential. The last part focused on the district analysis of Pilsen region. Then Pilsen region was selected and subjected to the closer analysis.
