Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této práce je prostřednictvím analýzy seriálu Stateless přiblížit systém aus-tralských detenčních center pro ilegální imigranty. Práce je rozdělena do dvou hlavních sekcí. První část je věnována analýzám čtyř hlavních postav a zaměřuje se na ambivalentní znázor-nění jejich hlavních osobnostních rysů jako je pohlaví a zařazení v hierarchickém uskupení institucionálního zařízení detenčního centra. Druhá část se zaměřuje na zasazení procesů imi-gračních center do širšího teoretického spektra, které umožňuje lépe uchopit oprávnění útlaku menšinové skupiny.

Abstract:

The main goal of this thesis is to present the system of Australian detention centres for illegal immigrants through the analysis of the TV series Stateless. The thesis is divided into two main sections. The first part is devoted to the analysis of the four main characters and focuses on the ambivalent representation of their main personality traits such as gender, race, and power relations. The second part concentrates on placing the processes of immigration centres into a broader theoretical spectrum, which allows for a better understanding of the legitimation of minority group oppression.
