Biodiversity of epiphytic lichens of the Nature Reserve Zbytka in eastern Bohemia

Abstract:

V rámci přírodní rezervace Zbytka ve východních Čechách byl proveden mezi lety 2022 a 2024 lichenologický průzkum s cílem zmapovat biodiverzitu epifytických lišejníků a popsat faktory, které jejich distribuci ovlivňují. Celkem bylo během terénního šetření nalezeno 82 druhů epifytických lišejníků a 5 druhů lichenikolních hub. Nejcennějším nálezem byl především druh Physcia tribacia, spadající dle recentního červeného seznamu do kategorie kriticky ohrožených druhů. Zároveň byl, mimo jiné, relativně často nalézán druh Inoderma byssaceum, který byl ještě v roce 2010 řazen do kategorie vyhynulých na území ČR. Pomocí mnohorozměrných analýz byly popsány některé rozdíly mezi nalezenými druhy. Na základě statistických analýz byl potvrzen signifikantní rozdíl mezi druhovou bohatostí biotopů, především mezi kategoriemi L3.1 a L2.3 či L3.1 a L2.2. Použití indexů biodiverzity vedlo ke snížení rozdílů mezi druhovou bohatostí biotopů. Nejvíce druhů lišejníků bylo nalezeno na substrátech Fraxinus excelsior, Quercus robur a Populus tremula, největší druhovou bohatost v rámci jednotlivých substrátů vykazovaly Salix alba, Populus tremula a Fraxinus excelsior. Byl zjištěn statisticky významný a relativně silný záporný vztah mezi druhovou bohatostí a vzdáleností od okraje lesa, závislost druhové bohatosti na obvodu kmene nebyla statisticky potvrzena. Překvapivým zjištěním byl pozitivní vztah mezi mírou eutrofizace a počtem nalezených druhů, pravděpodobně daný faktorem distribuce světla v zájmové lokalitě. V rámci prostorových analýz byla identifikována 3 hlavní horká místa biodiverzity epifytických lišejníků v PR Zbytka. Zároveň byly pomocí mapových výstupů vizualizovány bioindikační hodnoty nalezených druhů lišejníků pro zjištění možných faktorů ovlivňujících jejich distribuci napříč zájmovým územím. V tomto ohledu je pravděpodobně nejvýznamnější identifikace nejvíce eutrofizovaných oblastí v rámci lokality PR Zbytka.

Abstract:

A lichenological research was carried out within the Zbytka Nature Reserve in Eastern Bohemia between 2022 and 2024. The aim of the research was to map the biodiversity of epiphytic lichens and to describe the factors that determine distribution of lichens. In total, 82 species of epiphytic lichens and 5 species of lichenicolous fungi were found during the field survey. In particular, the most valuable record was the species Physcia tribacia, which is categorized as critically endangered in the Czech Republic. At the same time, the species Inoderma byssaceum, categorized until recently as extinct in the Czech Republic, was found relatively frequently. Using multivariate statistical analyses, some differences between the species were outlined. Statistical analyses confirmed a significant difference in species richness between habitats, especially between categories L3.1 and L2.3 or L3.1 and L2.2. The highest number of lichen species was found on Fraxinus excelsior, Quercus robur and Populus tremula, while Salix alba, Populus tremula and Fraxinus excelsior showed the highest species richness. There was a statistically significant and relatively strong negative correlation between species richness and distance from the forest edge. The effect of stem circumference on species richness was not statistically confirmed. A surprising finding was a positive relationship between eutrophication rate and the number of species found, probably due to the factor of light distribution in the area of interest. The spatial analyses identified 3 major hotspots of epiphytic lichen biodiversity. Subsequently, the bioindication values of the lichen species were spatially visualized to identify possible factors influencing their distribution across the area. In this regard, the identification of the most eutrophicated areas within the Zbytka Nature Reserve site is probably the most valuable.
