The care for parents and children within the sandwich generation in the context of healthcare

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou sendvičové generace, a to ve vztahu ke zdraví. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a výzkumnou část. V teoretické části jsou objasněny základní teoretické pojmy a poznatky, které se k dané problematice vážou. V první kapitole se práce zabývá samotným vymezením termínu sendvičová generace a důvody jejího samotného vzniku. Druhá kapitola je již věnována popisu vývojového stádia osobnosti - pozdní dospělosti, což je právě kategorie osob, ze kterých se sendvičová generace rekrutuje. Třetí kapitola se věnuje péčí o stárnoucí rodiče a jejími možnými úskalími a rovněž i popisu neformální péče, na které se podílejí právě rodinní příslušníci osob, které potřebují pomoc druhého člověka. Ve čtvrté kapitole je definována rodina jako nejbližší a primární sociální skupina, a vymezeny jednotlivé možné její proměny, kterými rodina prošla v novém tisíciletí. V závěru této kapitoly je rozebrána výchova, která probíhá v rodině. Závěrečná pátá kapitola je věnována definici zdraví a charakteristice zdravého životního stylu. Cílem diplomové práce je na základě kvalitativního výzkumu zkoumat zátěž pečujících osob o rodinné příslušníky v Hranicích. Ve výzkumné části diplomové práce je předložen výzkum, jehož cílem bylo analyzovat zátěž pečujících osob o rodinné příslušníky, které rovněž ještě vychovávají své děti. Výzkum byl kvalitativní a bylo v něm použito případové studie, a to na pěti respondentech - případech, které byly hlouběji analyzovány.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the problematics of sandwich generation with respect to their state of health. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and research part. The theoretical part explains the fundamental theoretical concepts and knowledge related to the topic. The first chapter deals with the definition of the term sandwich generation and the reasons for its origin. The second chapter is dealing with the description of the life stage of individuals - late adulthood, which is the category of people from whom the sandwich generation recruits. The third chapter describes the care for aging parents and its possible difficulties, as well as informal care carried out by family members of people who need assistance. The fourth chapter defines the family as a primary and nuclear social group, and at the same time it defines a variety of possible transformations that the family has undergone in the new millennium. At the end of this chapter, education that takes place in the family is analyzed. The final fifth chapter is devoted to the definition of health and characteristics of a healthy lifestyle. The aim of the thesis is to look into the burden of caring for family members in Hranice based on a qualitative research. The research part of the thesis presents an analysis of the encumbrance hidden in caring for family members while raising children. The research was qualitative and used case studies on five respondents - cases that were analyzed in details.
