Preferované technické aliance v pojišťovnictví v kontextu digitální transformace.

Abstract:

Pojišťovnictví se díky digitálním technologiím rychle mění. Tento článek zkoumá, zda tradiční pojišťovny musí vytvářet aliance s externími poskytovateli technologií (nakupovat), nebo budovat interní kapacity (vytvářet), aby zůstaly konkurenceschopné. Studie se zaměřuje na sektor soukromého majetkového pojištění v Německu. Vychází ze sedmi expertních rozhovorů a také z teorií, jako je přístup založený na zdrojích a ekonomie transakčních nákladů. Výsledky poukazují na hybridní strategii, při níž pojišťovny rozvíjejí klíčové kompetence interně a v případě specializovaných řešení se spoléhají na externí partnery. Mezi výzvy patří regulační omezení, složitost integrace a nedostatek kvalifikovaných pracovníků. Studie rovněž zkoumá nedostatečně prozkoumané oblasti, jako jsou aliance s kapitálovou účastí a bez ní. Tato práce poskytuje poznatky o vyvažování strategií typu „vyrob nebo kup“ se zaměřením na inovace prostřednictvím externí spolupráce při zachování strategické kontroly.

Abstract:

The insurance industry is changing rapidly due to digital technologies. This paper examines whether traditional insurers need to form alliances with external technology providers (buy) or build internal capabilities (make) to remain competitive. The study focuses on the private property insurance sector in Germany. It is based on seven expert interviews as well as theories such as the resource-based approach and transaction cost economics. The results point to a hybrid strategy in which insurers develop core competencies internally and rely on external partners for specialized solutions. Challenges include regulatory restrictions, the complexity of integration, and the shortage of skilled workers. The study also examines under-researched areas such as alliances with and without equity participation. This work provides insights into balancing make-or-buy strategies, with a focus on innovation through external collaborations while maintaining strategic control.
