New possibilities and approaches in the application of alternative and augmentative communication

Abstract:

Cílem předkládané práce je přiblížit nové možnosti a přístupy v aplikaci alternativní a augmentativní komunikace, konkrétně definování možností využití a aplikace komunikačních strategií a systémů alternativní a augmentativní komunikace u dětí s vícenásobným postižením. Teoretická část práce se zabývá osobností dítěte s vícenásobným postižením, jeho vývinem a komunikací a poté problematikou alternativní a augmentativní komunikace. Praktická část se věnuje kvalitativnímu výzkumu tří vybraných dětí s vícenásobným postižením při využívání a aplikaci náhradních komunikačních systémů alternativní a augmentativní komunikace. Poukazuje na výsledky a závěry výzkumného šetření, na základě kterých jsou uvedena doporučení pro praxi.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to present new possibilities and approaches in the application of alternative and augmentative communication, specifically to define the possibilities of using and applying communication strategies and systems of alternative and augmentative communication with children with multiple disabilities. The theoretical part deals with the definition of multiple disabilities, the characteristics of the personality of a child with multiple disabilities, followed by the definition of the concept of alternative and augmentative communication and the characterization of the basic systems of alternative and augmentative communication and the possibilities of their use with children with multiple disabilities. The practical part is devoted to qualitative research of three selected children with multiple disabilities with whom alternative and augmentative communication systems are used and applied. It highlights the results and conclusions of the research survey, based on which recommendations for practical application are made.
