Comparison of video channels in the area of Dark Tourism on YouTube

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je porovnat videokanály na YouTube, které se zaměřují na oblast Dark Tourismu a doporučit možná zlepšení. Tato diplomová práce je rozdělena do tří částí, kdy v první části jsou popsány základní pojmy jako je YouTube, dark tourism či videokanál. Dále jsou zde představeny nejznámější místa temného turismu a uveden i rozdíl mezi dark tourismem a UrbExem. Teoretická část diplomová práce se zaobírá i etickou stránkou tohoto typu cestování. Ve druhé části diplomové práce již dochází k zaměření se přímo na videa a videokanály na platformě YouTube z oblasti dark tourism a nastává jejich analýza a komparace, a to jak z obsahového hlediska, tak z hlediska kvality, dohledatelnosti či popularity. Jednotlivé videoklipy jsou navzájem porovnávány na základě dohledatelných ukazatelů jako jsou komentáře, u který se zaměřujeme jak na počet, tak na jejich strukturu. Dále pak se zaměřujeme na množství hodnocení „líbí se mi“ a počty zhlédnutí. Též dochází ke komparaci jednotlivých videokanálu, na kterých se analyzovaná videa nacházejí. Zde je porovnáváno o jaké videokanály se jedná, jaká videa nabízejí a jak jsou populární. Poslední část diplomové práce, návrhová část, úzce navazuje na předchozí analytickou část, kdy po komparaci jednotlivých videokanálů a zjištěných nedostatků, jsou navrhována možná zlepšení jednotlivých videí, jako je například zlepšení užití správných klíčových slov pro snazší vyhledávání či změna miniatur videoklipů.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to compare video channels focusing on dark tourism on the YouTube platform and recommend possible improvements. This diploma thesis is divided into three parts, where the first part describes the basic concepts such as YouTube, dark tourism or video channel. There are also introduced the most famous places of dark tourism and the difference between dark tourism and UrbEx. The ethics of this type of travel is also mentioned here. In the second part of the diploma thesis, it already focuses directly on videos and video channels on the YouTube platform and they are analyzed and compared in terms of content and in terms of quality, traceability or popularity. The individual video clips are compared with each other on the basis of traceable indicators such as comments, which we focus on both the number and their structure. Then we focus on the number of "likes" and views. There is also a comparison of individual video channels on which the analyzed videos are located, when it is compared what kind of video channels they are, what videos they offer and how popular they are. The last part of the diploma thesis is closely related to the previous analytical part, where after comparing the individual video channels and identified shortcomings, possible improvements to individual videos are suggested, such as improving the use of correct keywords for easier search or possible change thumbnails of the video clips.
