Using literature to teach politeness theory: The author will pick novelist(s) to illustrate how fiction works to model human interaction/pragmatic linguistics illustrated by Brown and Levinson's concept of politeness theory. The novelist(s) should focus on some multicultural or postcolonial theme or content.
Abstract:
Tato práce rozebírá teorii zdvořilosti a vysvětluje jeji základní koncepty na příkladech v literatuře.
Abstract:
The focus of this thesis is to analyse and explain the concepts of politeness theory and illustrate them on examples from literature, to help students fully understand them.
