Identification and development of talent in youth football

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá procesy identifikace a rozvoje talentů v mládežnickém fotbale. Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce bylo prostřednictvím evaluace primárních zdrojů kriticky shrnout současné poznatky o rozvoji a identifikaci talentů ve fotbale. Strategie vyhledávání primárních zdrojů byla rozdělena do dvou částí. První část obsahovala selekci primárních zdrojů na základě předem stanovených kritérii, druhá část obsahovala detailní analýzu již vyhledaných primárních zdrojů, po které bylo do práce zahrnuto celkem 14 primárních zdrojů. Výsledky poukazují na to, že identifikace a rozvoj talentu je složitá skutečnost a také, že každý stát či akademie přistupuje k metodám a způsobu identifikace talentů jinak. Avšak z výsledků práce vyplývá, že talent mladých fotbalistů se rozpoznává, následně vybírá a rozvíjí nejčastěji dle všestranného testování hráčů nebo skautingu hledačů talentů, trenérů a manažerů podle předem stanovených atributů a faktorů. Těmi jsou hlavně technické, taktické a rozhodovací procesy, ale také celkový dojem a pocit z hráče.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the processes of talent identification and development in youth football. The main aim of the bachelor thesis was to critically summarise current knowledge on talent development and identification in youth football through the evaluation of primary sources. The primary source search strategy was divided into two parts. The first part included the selection of primary sources based on predetermined criteria, while the second part included a detailed analysis of the primary sources already searched, after which a total of 14 primary sources were included in the thesis. The results indicate that talent identification and development is a complex reality and also that each state or academy approaches the methods and method of talent identification differently. However, the results of this thesis suggest that the talent of young footballers is identified, then selected and developed most often according to all-round testing of players or scouting by talent scouts, coaches and managers according to predetermined attributes and factors. These are mainly technical, tactical and decision-making processes, but also the overall impression and feeling of the player.
