Commented Translation of a Linguistic Text

Abstract:

This master thesis is dedicated to the translation of a linguistic text from French to Czech language and to subsequent commentary of translation solutions. The source text is an excerpt from the periodical Histoire Épistémologie Langage, entitled Les langues des Indes orientales entre Renaissance et Âge classique, which was part of the thematic number: Découverte des langues ? la Renaissance. The authors are Marie-Luce Demonet-Launay and Toshinori Uetani under the auspices of the Univeristy of Tours. The translation itself is discussed in the first part, the second part deals with a detailed commentary of the translation solutions. The thesis also includes a glossary of terms from the field of history and religion.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje překladu lingvistického textu z francouzského do českého jazyka a následnému komentáři překladatelských řešení. Výchozím textem je úryvek z časopisu Histoire Épistémologie Langage s názvem Les langues des Indes orientales entre Renaissance et Âge classique, který byl součástí tematického vydání Découverte des langues ? la Renaissance. Autory jsou Marie-Luce Demonet-Launay a Toshinori Uetani pod záštitou univerzity v Tours. Samotnému překladu se věnujeme v první části, část druhá představuje podrobný komentář překladatelských řešení. Součástí práce je rovněž glosář termínů z oblasti historie a náboženství.
