Development of the midwifery profession in the 20th century in the Czech Republic and Great Britain

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá popisem vývoje porodní asistence v České republice a Velké Británii v průběhu 20. století. V první části je popsán vývoj a změny vzdělávání, kompetencí, postavení a zakládání profesních organizací a faktory, které vývoj ovlivnili v obou zemích v průběhu 20. století. V druhé části je vytvořen a popsán literární přehled z elektronických databází, který vychází z dostupných knih, časopisů a článků, které se zabývají také vývojem profese porodní asistence v České republice a Velké Británii v průběhu 20. století.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the evolution of the midwifery profession in the Czech Republic and in Great Britain during 20th century. The first part of the thesis describes the evolution and changes in education, the competences, the status and establishment of the midwifery organization and factors which affected the evolution of the profession in both countries during the 20th century. In the second part is concentrates a literature review of electronic databases which is based on available books, magazines and articles that deal with the evolution of the midwifery profession in the Czech Republic and Great Britain during the 20th century.
