The Role of State in Finland's Innovativeness

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá rolí státu v inovativnosti Finska. Hlavním cílem práce je zjistit příčiny vysoké inovativnosti Finska, s důrazem na to, jakou roli v tomto ohledu hraje stát. První kapitola práce se zabývá základními pojmy jako inovace, inovační politika a národní inovační systémy z teoretického hlediska. Druhá kapitola se již věnuje inovativnosti Finska. Její stěžejní částí je analýza inovačních indikátorů a dále historický vývoj finského národního inovačního systému. Na základě analýzy z druhé kapitoly je identifikováno vzdělání jako stěžejní oblast finského inovačního systému a to je následně blíže analyzováno v poslední kapitole.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the role of state in Finland's innovativeness. The thesis aims to discover the main causes of Finland's high innovativeness with an emphasis on the role of state in this regard. The first chapter deals with basic terms such as innovation, innovation policy and national innovation system from a theoretical point of view. The second part deals with Finland's innovativeness. The analysis of innovation indicators and the historical development of the Finnish national innovation system are important parts of this chapter. Based on the analysis from the second chapter, education is identified as a key area of the Finnish innovation system and this is subsequently analysed in more detail in the last chapter.
