Verification of the DEMOR and PACES survey for application in students of elementary and secondary school age (pilot study)

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je verifikovat dotazovací techniky DEMOR a PACES zabývajícími se emočními reakcemi, prožitky a vztahy respondentů ke školní tělesné výchově u kontrolního vzorku žáků ve věku 7. a 3. tříd základní školy. Hlavními hodnotícími kritérii jsou pro tuto studii rozsah a srozumitelnost jednotlivých forem dotazníků u vybraných věkových skupin. Dílčím cílem je na základě výsledků sestavit návrh aktualizované podoby dotazníků vhodné pro respondenty daného věku. Teoretická část práce se zabývá školní tělesnou výchovou v České republice, charakteristikou vybraných věkových skupin, klasifikací emocí a faktory ovlivňujícími vztah k tělesné výchově a pohybu obecně. Výstupem praktické části je vyhodnocení časové náročnosti potřebné k vyplnění jednotlivých forem dotazníků, identifikace jejich problémových položek, nahrazení těchto položek a zapracování do aktualizovaných formulářů výzkumných technik DEMOR a PACES. V závěru práce obsahuje také doporučení pro další výzkumy spojené s těmito dotazníky.

Abstract:

The aim of the presented diploma thesis is to verify questionnaires DEMOR and PACES in third grades at primary schools and seventh grades at lower secondary schools. These questionnaires are dealing pupils´ emotional reactions, experience and relationships towards physical education classes. The questionnaires are verified in terms of their lengths and understanding for given age groups. The partial goal is to update the questionnaires on the basis of this research in order to be appropriate for third- and seventh-graders. Theoretical part of this thesis focuses on Physical Education classes in the Czech Republic, description of the age groups and classifying the emotions. The factors influencing the relationships towards physical education are described in the theoretical part as well. The outcome of the practical part of the presented thesis is to determine the time needed for fulfilling the questionnaires and to identify the questions pupils had problems with. These problematic questions are further discussed and more suitable options are designed and implemented into the updated versions of the DEMOR and PACES questionnaires. The thesis also contains recommendations for more researches using these questionnaires.
