The concept of sustainable development in the segment of beverage producers

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá v současné době velmi diskutovaným tématem trvale udržitelného rozvoje a společenské odpovědnosti firem. Cílem je odhalení přístupů společností z odvětví výrobců nealkoholických nápojů k trvalé udržitelnosti. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí. Součástí teoretické části je zmapování klíčových pojmů pojících se k tomuto tématu. Definovány jsou například následující oblasti: CSR, triple bottom line, eko design, Agenda 2030 pro udržitelný rozvoj, Cíle SDGs, cirkulární ekonomika, zálohování a reporting. Dále pak následuje praktická část, která zkoumá přístupy ke konceptu udržitelnosti tří největších podniků působících na českém trhu v segmentu výroby a distribuce nealkoholických nápojů. Konkrétně se jedná o společnosti Kofola ČeskoSlovensko, Coca-Cola HBC a Mattoni 1873. Veškeré informace o aktivitách a iniciativách těchto podniků byly získány na základě prostudování zpráv o udržitelném rozvoji, výročních zpráv, webových stránek a příspěvků firem na jejich vlastních sociálních sítích. Výsledkem je zhodnocení uplatňovaných přístupů jednotlivých podniků a jejich vzájemné porovnání, které je uvedeno ve shrnující tabulce.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the currently often discussed topic of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility. The aim is to reveal the different approaches of companies in the soft drink industry to sustainability. The thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part includes mapping of key concepts related to this topic. For example, the following areas are defined: CSR, triple bottom line, eco-design, the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the SDGs, circular economy, backup and reporting. This is followed by a practical part that examines the approaches to the concept of sustainability of the three largest companies operating on the Czech market in the segment of production and distribution of soft drinks. Specifically, the companies Kofola ČeskoSlovensko, Coca-Cola HBC and Mattoni 1873. All the information about the activities and initiatives of these companies was obtained by studying sustainability reports, annual reports, websites and posts on their respective social network accounts. The result is an assessment of the approaches taken by each company and a comparison between them, which is presented in the summary table.
