Forest regeneration in winter

Abstract:

Práce se zaměřuje na porovnávání výsadby prostokořenného sadebního materiálu v zimním a jarním období. Práce dále obsahuje ověřování vlivu hydroabsorbentu a jeho aplikaci ve formě Hydrogelu na prostokořennou sazenici. Ověření bylo realizováno na dubobukovém lesním vegetačním stupni, který se nachází v nadmořské výšce 505 m. n. m. Cílový hospodářský soubor je 41. Výsadba byla provedena v zimním období 1. 3. 2019 smrkem ztepilým a bukem lesním, kontrolou byla výsadba totožných dřevin na téže ploše v jarním období 4. - 6. 4. 2019. Sledovány a následně zaznamenány byly tyto parametry a znaky: výškové přírůsty, délky nadzemních částí, tloušťky kořenových krčků, počty a výšky nasazení dvojáků, velikost asimilačních aparátů, vitality sazenic, poškození abiotickými a biotickými činiteli, celkové ztráty, doby rašení, teploty vzduchu, úhrny srážek a vlhkosti vzduchu. Ze všech vyhodnocených dat bylo zjištěno, že pro smrk ztepilý i buk lesní je vhodnější zimní výsadba. U obou dřevin se aplikování Hydrogelu projevilo pozitivně, a to jak pro zimní, tak i pro jarní výsadbu. Pro smrk ztepilý i buk lesní byla aplikace Hydrogelu prospěšná z důvodu zmírnění ztrát na sazenicích v období sucha.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on comparing the planting of bare-rooted planting material during winter and spring season. Besides that, it concerns the task of verifying the influence of hydroabsorbent and its application on bare-root plants in the form of Hydrogel. The verification was carried out on an oak-beech forest vegetation grade, which is located at 505 meters above sea level. The target management set of stands is 41. The planting was done in the winter season on 1st March 2019, with Norway spruce and European beech, the control was realized by planting identical tree species in the very same area during the spring season between 4th – 6th. April 2019. Following parameters and characteristics were examined and noted: height increments, above-ground part lengths, the thickness of the root collars, totals and heights of twin deployments, size of the assimilation apparatus, plants vitalities, damage caused by biotic and abiotic factors, total losses, sprouting times, air temperatures, rainfalls, and air humidities. All the evaluated data was used to conclude that the winter planting is more suitable for Norway spruce as well as for European beech. Applying the Hydrogel had positive effects on both species for the winter as well as for the spring planting. Application of Hydrogel was helpful for both Norway spruce and European beech because of diminishing plants' losses in droughts.
