Práce obsahuje v první části historický exkurz do problematiky, který se pokouší popsat vývoj financování církví a náboženských společností od středověku až do roku 1918. V další části se věnuje vývoji legislativy týkající se financování církví od zmíněného roku až do současnosti. V této části je nejvíce prostoru věnováno obsahovému rozboru zákona č. 218/1949 Sb., který výrazně ovlivnil a doposud ovlivňuje problematiku financování církví v České republice. V další části se autor věnuje platné právní úpravě financování církví. Zabývá se zde Listinou základních práv a svobod, zákonem č. 3/2002 Sb., novelizacemi zákona č. 218/1949 Sb. a v krátkém přehledu další legislativě, která se týká církví a náboženských společností. Následná kapitola popisuje současnou praxi financování církví. Poté měl následovat výzkum provedený formou dotazů na jednotlivé církve, ale kvůli sice pochopitelné, ale přesto politováníhodné neochotě církví reagovat, nebyl výzkum realizován. V závěrečné kapitole se proto, na základě zkušeností z jiných zemí Evropské unie a s ohledem na odbornou literaturu, práce věnuje návrhům možných řešení dalšího vývoje financování církví v České republice. Práce obsahuje seznam použité literatury a pramenů, včetně citované legislativy. Osobní názor autora práce na otázku financování církví je vyjádřen v závěru práce.

Keywords: Church financing, Churches, Churches and Law Bachelor's thesis on "Financing of Churches from the State budget (legal and economic aspects)," was written by a student of the Faculty of Law, Masaryk University, graduated on Theological Faculty. He has been working for the last seven years as a Student Pastor of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. In this regard, the author is interested in this topic and it was also the reason for his decision for issue of church financing. In the first part of this work, there is a historical overview, which shows process of financing of churches and religious societies since Middle Ages until 1918. The next section deals with the development of legislation concerning the financing of churches from that year until now. This section is mainly devoted to a content analysis of the Act No. 218/1949 Coll. on Budgetary Rules and on amendments of some related acts, which greatly influenced and still influences the issue of financing of Churches in the Czech Republic. In the next section the author deals with current legislation of financing of churches, the Charter of Fundamental Rights and Freedoms, Act No. 3/2002 Coll., Amended Act No. 218/1949 Coll. and a brief overview of other legislation that relates to churches and religious societies. The subsequent chapter describes the current practice of church financing, which should have been followed by research on individual churches. Nevertheless, because of the understandable but regrettable reluctance of churches to respond, research has not been unfortunately realized. Therefore, in the final chapter, author deals with the proposals for possible solutions of the further developments of church financing in the Czech Republic, based on the experience of other countries of European Union. The work contains a bibliography and sources, including the cited legislation. Personal opinion of the author, the issue of financing of Churches, is expressed in the conclusion.
