Pedagogical, Psychological and Social Aspects of Lifelong Education of General Nurses

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá tématem celoživotního vzdělávání všeobecných sester v České republice, konkrétně významem vybraných osobnostních a sociálních charakteristik všeobecných sester jako důležitých determinant kvality a efektivity celého vzdělávacího procesu. Hlavním cílem práce je identifikovat některé pedagogické, psychologické a sociální aspekty ovlivňující proces celoživotního vzdělávání všeobecných sester (determinanty celoživotního vzdělávání sester). Cílem teoretické části práce je srozumitelně popsat základní koncepty našeho hypotetického interakčního modelu determinant celoživotního vzdělávání všeobecných sester, přičemž se zaměříme především na motivační, osobnostní charakteristiky a koncept syndromu vyhoření. Věnujeme se terminologické a teoretické zakotvenosti zmíněných klíčových pojmů (konceptů) a shrnujeme současné výzkumy Druhá, empirická část práce přináší výsledky výzkumu zaměřeného na výzkum determinant celoživotního vzdělávání všeobecných sester. Výzkumné otázky byly rozděleny do tří okruhů (pedagogické, psychologické a sociální aspekty), v rámci nichž byly postulovány výzkumné předpoklady - sledované znaky (deskriptivní výzkum) a hypotézy (relační výzkum). Na základě znalostí charakteristik základního souboru jsme rozdělili základní soubor do několika podsouborů - vrstev (fakultní nemocnice, nemocnice krajské, okresní a městské, soukromé, léčebny a ústavy, lázeňské léčebny a ozdravovny, ambulantní zařízení) a z každého z nich dále provedli náhodný výběr. Celkem se výzkumu zúčastnilo 271 respondentů. Výzkumné metody jsme navrhli se zřetelem k výzkumným cílům. Hlavní výzkumnou metodou je v tomto případě metoda terénního výzkumu (výběrové šetření – Hendl, 2004). Ke sběru dat jsme použili tyto metody: 1. Dotazník ke zjištění pedagogických, psychologických a sociálních aspektů CŽV (dotazník vlastní konstrukce) 2. Dotazník motivace k výkonu LMI 3. Osobnostní inventář NEO – FFI 4. Dotazník vyhoření - Maslach Burnout Inventory MBI. Na základě výsledků našeho výzkumu popisujeme několik základních kategorií, které mohou být pokládány za hlavní determinanty celoživotního vzdělávání sester. Naše práce je jedna z prvních, která se systematicky zabývá celoživotním vzděláváním sester v podmínkách nové koncepce celoživotního vzdělávání se zřetelem na pedagogické, psychologické a sociální determinanty. Systematická reflexe determinant CŽV může být klíčem k efektivnějšímu systému vzdělávání. Výsledky našeho výzkumu přinášejí cenné informace a poznatky, které mohou být inspirací a novým zadáním nejen pro organizátory celoživotního vzdělávání sester a lektory, ale i pro politiku rozvoje systému celoživotního vzdělávání ve zdravotnictví.

Abstract:

Pedagogical, Psychological and Social Aspects of Lifelong Education of General Nurses The work deals with the topic of lifelong education of general nurses in the Czech Republic, namely with the importance of selected personality and social characteristics of general nurses as important determinants of the quality and efficiency of the whole educational process. The main goal of the work is to identify some pedagogical, psychological and social aspects influencing the process of lifelong education of general nurses (the determinants of lifelong education of nurses). The theoretical part of the work is aimed at clear description of the basic concepts of our hypothetical interaction model of the determinants of lifelong education of general nurses, focusing especially on motivational and personality characteristics and the concept of the burnout syndrome. We deal with the terminological and theoretical grounding of the above mentioned key terms (concepts) and summarize the results of recent research studies. The second, empirical part of the work presents the results of the research focused on investigation of the determinants of lifelong education of general nurses. The research questions were divided into three domains (the pedagogical, psychological and social aspects), within which the research presumptions were postulated – the investigated characteristics (descriptive research) and hypotheses (relational research). On the basis of knowledge of the basic population characteristics we divided the basic population into several subsets – layers (faculty hospitals, regional, district and municipality hospitals, private hospitals, health resorts, spas and sanatoriums, outpatient facilities) and then we chose a random sample from each of them. Altogether 271 respondents participated in the research. We proposed the research methods with regard to our research goals. The main research method is the method of field research (selective research – Hendl, 2004). Data collection was made using the following methods: 1. Questionnaire for investigation of pedagogical, psychological and social aspects of lifelong education (questionnaire of our own design) 2. Achievement motivation inventory (LMI) 3. Personality inventory – NEO Five-Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI) 4. Burnout inventory – Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI) On the basis of our research results we describe several basic categories which may be held as the main determinants of lifelong education of nurses. Our work is one of the first works systematically dealing with lifelong education of nurses under the conditions of the new conception of lifelong education, with particular regard to pedagogical, psychological and social determinants. Systematic reflection on the determinants of lifelong education may be a key to more efficient system of education. The results of our research provide valuable information and knowledge which may become inspiration and new challenge not only for the organizers of lifelong education of nurses and the teachers but also for the policy of the development of lifelong education in the health care system.
